PASTORAL CARE

Our church community has the responsibility and commitment to care for, support and encourage one another, especially in times of crisis and difficulty.  Through prayer, hospital and home visitations, Lay Eucharistic Ministry, and pastoral counsel the pastoral staff walks with those who are dealing with the challenges of life.  Contact the office if you or a loved one is scheduled for surgery, have a prayer request or need of a priest.  One of our clergy is always on call.

Lay Eucharist Ministry (LEM's) - Lay Eucharistic Ministers extends the Sunday worship experience beyond the walls of Intercession Church to reach the lives of members who for reasons of illness or infirmity cannot attend church services.  They share the sacrament of Christ's body and blood in Holy Communion but through the element of pastoral care, bring a  ministry of Christ and community presence, and a felling of healing and hope.

Prayer Chain -  A weekly confidential prayer list sent by e-mail taken from the prayer list and additional requests received by phone or e-mail during the week. Chain members then pray for the people on the list as often as they are called to do.

Shawl Ministry - Prayer shawls or lap robes are made by members of the parish who quilt, knit or crochet them to remind a parish member who is going through a difficult time or challenging period in their life of both our love and that of God’s.

Caring MInisters - Caring Ministers augment the parstoral care given by our clergy, not to replace it.  They provide additional spiritual support for church members who are going through difficult times by listening and understanding.

Crazy Quilters -  Crazy Quilters makes quilts for families living in shelters, the Growing Home Community Outreach and the St. Francis Center.  They meet the First Saturday of each month.
